Dass Menschen die Skulptur begehen, besitzen, dass sie sie räumlich erkunden und sich rund um die Skulptur herumbewegen können, ist Wolfgang Wohlfahrt wichtig. Dem Betrachter wird so eine reale körperliche Erfahrung mit der Skulptur geboten, sodass durch den Wechsel des Standortes auch eine veränderte Perspektive auf das Objekt wie auf den umgebenden Raum ermöglicht wird. In der Arbeit „Freilegung“ (1996) wird besonders deutlich, wie wesentlich die Interaktionsmöglichkeit des Betrachters mit der Skulptur ist. Die Arbeit besteht aus zwei symmetrischen Teilen, die so positioniert sind, dass sich ein Mensch genau in die Mitte zwischen die Blöcke begeben kann, wobei sein Blick eine konkrete Ausrichtung auf die umgebende Landschaft erfährt. Die Blöcke wurden an den Innenseiten glatt geschnitten und poliert, an den Außenseiten ist die Skulptur naturbelassen und rau. Moose und Flechten der Umgebung haben sich auf der Oberfläche festgesetzt, sodass diese sich in ihre Umgebung einfügt.(Textauszug: Sabine Gamper : Katalog: INNEN UND AUSSEN Erika Inger und Wolfgang Wohlfahrt, Raetia, Bozen 2015)

It is important to Wolfgang Wohlfahrt that people can walk around the sculpture, that they can explore it spatially and move around it. The viewer is thus offered a real physical experience with the sculpture, so that the change of position also enables a different perspective on the object and the surrounding space. In the work „Freilegung“ (1996), it becomes particularly clear how important it is for the viewer to be able to interact with the sculpture. The work consists of two symmetrical parts that are positioned in such a way that a person can place themselves exactly in the centre between the blocks, whereby their gaze is directed towards the surrounding landscape. The blocks have been cut smooth and polished on the inside, while the sculpture is left natural and rough on the outside. Mosses and lichens from the surroundings have settled on the surface so that it blends into its surroundings.
